For many people, 2020 revealed for the first time how systemic inequities and injustice are a constant reality for some of us and avoidable for others. In this workshop, you will learn why empathy is the foundation for persistent change, learn tools for engaging empathy, and practice the skill with real world use cases.

This workshop is a pre-requisite for other Foundation workshops. It's recommended prior to Practice Sessions, but not required.

Most people want to do the right thing. All too often, we are paralyzed by the discomfort we experience in unfamiliar situations and when we're unsure of the right thing to do. In this workshop, you'll learn tips for recognizing discomfort, learn how your unique traits can help you process it, and practice techniques for acclimating to and managing it.

Pre-requisite: Engaging Empathy

Sustained change to systemic marginalization is only possible when those negatively affected are joined in action by those with the most power to change it. In this workshop, you'll learn how to identify effective you can take, how to summon the courage to take them, and how to make this a habit until things change for the better.

Pre-requisite: Engaging Empathy. Acclimating to Discomfort is suggested, but not required.

News cycles give us a false sense that the consequence of error is too high to justify the risk of taking action toward systemic change. Making mistakes is critical and inevitable. In this workshop, you'll build on the skills learned in the other Foundations courses to learn and practice how to recover from mistakes with grace and resilience.
